Child Abuse Prevention Program
The Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP) teaches child safety, abuse recognition and prevention to children at schools, day care facilities and community organizations at no cost.
Children learn in a safe and non-threatening format designed to entertain and inform through videos, songs and other activities.
Free training and educational programs for staff and parents are also a part of this comprehensive program.
Children's Programs:
The 20-to-45 minutes presentations include:
One to two hour multimedia presentations teaching child abuse detection and prevention.
The Training covers:
Each participant receives a certificate of completion and a CAPP reference book covering information covered in the course.
A shortened version of the professional training program is available for camp counselors.
The Parent Program:
Parents are invited to a one-hour preview of the children's programs. Additionally this program addresses sexual development of children, appropriate response skills for a disclosure of abuse, Internet safety guidelines and general child safety.
The SAFE SURF Internet Safety Program:
For youth in grades 4 through 12, this free program, tiered for age-appropriate content, is designed to prevent the victimization of children and teens who use the Internet. It also promotes good cyber citizenship.
