Della Benham, MSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and Manager-Clinical Service at JF&CS. She earned her BA in Psychology from WV Wesleyan College and an MSW from St. Louis University. She is licensed in both Missouri and Illinois; is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Academy of Certified Social Workers; a Board Certified Member of the American Academy of Pain Management; a Certified Hypnotherapist with the American Institute for Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy; and a member of Psychotherapy Saint Louis. In addition, she has maintained a private clinical practice for the past 16 years.

Ms. Benham’s areas of expertise include:

  • fit design and implementation of innovative intake systems and results marketing
  • preparation of multiple behavioral health programs for site visits with accrediting organizations
  • clinical supervision and teambuilding, and collaborations between internal program areas, as well as, with other community organizations

 

 

Toby Cremer, MSW, is a licensed clinical social worker at JF&CS.  Ms. Cremer earned an MSW from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University and has worked at JF&CS since 1987.  In addition, Ms. Cremer works with the NORC project (Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities) developing and providing programs, activities and services to residents 65 years or age or older so that these individuals are able to maintain their independence and connection to the community.

Ms. Cremer’s areas of expertise include working with older adults and their families on issues related to:

  • independence
  • psychosocial functioning
  • and problems with everyday living

 

 

 

 

 

Allison Davis, MSW, is a licensed clinical social worker. She earned her MSW from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University. She has experience providing short-term, crisis intervention services to families and is currently in training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

Ms. Davis’s areas of expertise include:

  • working with children who have experienced trauma
  • working with families in crisis
  • addressing domestic violence issues
  • certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy

 

Wil Franklin, MS- is a therapist at JF&CS. Mr. Franklin earned his MS in clinical psychology from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Mr. Franklin provides:

  • psychological, psychoeducational, and psychodiagnostic
    assessments at JF&CS’ Learning and Behavioral Diagnostic
    Center
  • expertise in working with troubled teens, families, and couples
  • specialized training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
  • and Behavioral Family Systems Therapy (BFST)

Shannon Harting, LCSW is a social worker with expertise in working with children, adolescents, and their families. Shannon provides school consultation services as well as therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. She earned her MSW from St. Louis University.

Ms. Harting's areas of expertise include:

  • family therapy
  • certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • intensive in-home services
  • Training/psychoeducational groups
  • work with individuals with wide range of physical and mental disabilities

 

Rochelle Novack, MEd is the Coordinator of Intake Services at JF&CS.  She earned an MEd (1976) in counseling from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.  She has worked at JF&CS since 1980 and held a number of administrative positions.  In addition, Ms. Novack is the coordinator of psychiatry services provided at JF&CS through the Family Mental Health Collaborative (FMHC). 

Ms. Novack’s areas of expertise include:

  • intake and triage management
  • management information systems
  • quality assurance
  • compliance with accreditation standards

 

Esther Scharf, MSW is a licensed clinical social worker at JF&CS.  Ms. Scharf earned an MSW (1993) from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University and has worked at JF&CS since 1995. Ms. Scharf has specialized training in Meditation.

Ms. Scharf’s areas of expertise include working with:

  • older adults, couples, and adults with serious and persistent mental health problems
  • mindfulness, meditation, and stress management techniques
  • older adults and adults with special needs at two  HUD-funded facilities

Amethyst Taylor, MA, is a Therapist and Intake Specialist at JF&CS. Amethyst earned a MA in Counseling from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma (2001). Amethyst has a proven rapport with people of various ages and backgrounds.

Ms. Taylor’s areas of expertise include:

  • individual and group work with children, adolescents, women and families
  • crisis management, facilitating community and school workshops, coaching, mentoring, and prevention programs
  • parent education, parent-child communication and Emotional Intelligence training (Pairs for Peers)

 

Peter Walker, MSW is a licensed clinical social worker at JF&CS. Mr. Walker earned an MSW (1980) from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University and has worked at JF&CS since 1981. In addition, Mr. Walker is a member of the On-Site Psychosocial Team that provides a variety of services to children and adolescents at several community schools.

Mr. Walker’s areas of expertise include:

  • family and marital therapy adoption searches child and adolescent psychopathology
  • specialized training in Emotion-Focused Family Therapy

 

 

Evelyn Young, MSW is a licensed clinical social worker at JF&CS. Ms. Young earned an MSW (1976) from the St. Louis University School of Social Work. She has worked at JF&CS since 1976 and held a number of positions as Coordinator of the Homemaker, New American and Financial Assistance Programs. In addition, Ms. Young is fluent in both German and French.

Ms. Young’s areas of expertise include working with:

  • older adults and their families on issues related to independence, psychosocial functioning, and problems with everyday living
  • holocaust survivors and severely mentally ill adults
  • adults coping with depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and illnesses such as cancer, diabetes

 

Jody Warren, MA, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts Degree in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University. Licensed in both Missouri and Illinois, she is also trained as a court-approved Family/ Divorce Mediator.  Jody is experienced in working with diverse and at-risk children and adolescents in the schools and in providing counseling for individuals of all ages, families, and groups.

Ms. Warren's areas of expertise include:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • Interpersonal effectiveness and relationships
  • Children’s Therapy and Skills Training Groups focusing on substance abuse and life skills education
  • Grief/Loss and divorce recovery
  • Mediation
